I know some Chapel fans are also fans of Doctor Who, so I hope you’ll appreciate the topic of this strip. I think people’s reactions when watching TV can be really hilarious – the episode Chapel and Barnaby are watching in the last two panels is “Doomsday,” the famously sad finale of Doctor Who’s second season. I think my mom – who’s a lifetime Doctor Who fan -- used up an entire box of tissues the first time she watched it!

There was another comic where Chapel marathoned TV. Can you remember what show she was watching? If you guess first without checking, I’ll give you a shout-out in next week’s commentary!

Also: Wednesday, February 13, was my 16th birthday. Happy sweet sixteen to me!
OMG happy birthday!!!
I've never seen that episode of Doctor Who... I've only seen 'Asylum of the Daleyx' (did I spell it right??) and I really liked it... But I haven't seen any others :(
Ginny Weasley fan 4/24/13
Ah, there are plenty of other good episodes! You should try it!
 Emma  4/30/13

That awkward moment when you discover your older than the author you're a fan of.
Pemi 3/29/13
Oops, sorry!! Ha ha. For what it's worth, I'm happy you consider yourself my fan!
 Emma  3/29/13

This was exactly what happened when I watched the season finale. Unfortunately, I was not allowed to write a weeping email to everyone I knew, for my sister and I were marathonning DW until about 11 o'clock while our parental units were at a movie or something and we were sent to bed immediately. Also to answer your challenge, without looking at below comments: Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Clockwork Wombat 2/28/13
Also, happy birthday (glances at watch) 12 days late. :)
Clockwork Wombat 2/28/13
Thank you so much!
 Emma  3/8/13
I watched it with my mom, so we cried onto each other's shoulders when we saw it. And you're correct about the Buffy! Good memory!
 Emma  3/8/13

How hilarious. Even when Barnaby and Chapel are sad, they fight. Not like they fight often, but still. Wow. :D
ilovepie81 2/27/13
Well, just a nice bickering among siblings! It's not as bad as most things you see anyway.
 Emma  3/8/13

I just got a new drawing tablet today (Bamboo) and it's awesome? What kind of drawing tablet do you use?
Kirbiti 2/22/13
Lol, oops. I meant to put an exclamation point after awesome :-)
Kirbiti 2/22/13
I use an Intuos, which is another line from the same company (Wacom) that makes the Bamboos. Bamboo is a great starter tablet though! Good luck with your new purchase!
 Emma  3/8/13

Emma,
I was looking back at the beginning and I remember there being a different introduction. What happened too it? I liked it better
Izzy 2/21/13
I decided to change it because I wanted something that closer followed the rules of "show, don't tell." I thought the other one explained a bit too much without letting the reader discover it for themselves!
 Emma  3/8/13

Hey!
I love Chapel!!!! She is SO funny. I love reading and I'm glad I remembered the Chapel Chronicles because I forgot about it for a while........ ANYWAY just glad I remembered it!!!
-Izzy
Izzy 2/21/13
I'm happy you remembered it too! I hope you keep reading and enjoying my comics!
 Emma  2/21/13

Happy belated birthday, Emma!
Kirbiti 2/21/13
Thank you so much!
 Emma  2/21/13

Dr. Taxil Necrobane 2/21/13
Hmmmm...... David Tenant????

Missy 2/21/13
Yeah, I'll go with Missy's answer.... Unless he's not d
Miss L.S.P 2/21/13
Ugh, sorry accidentally pressed the post comment button..... Anyways, as I was saying, I would go with David tennant unless he wasn't doctor who related
Miss L.S.P 2/21/13

Dr. Taxil Necrobane 2/21/13

Vanilla Kitten 2/19/13
Yes, you're right! Good job!
 Emma  2/20/13

Vanilla Kitten 2/22/13

Haha, shows like this really bring people closer together. Literally, look. They get closer in each box. XD
Rizzle 2/19/13
Yep, I did that on purpose! I'm happy you caught it! :)
 Emma  2/20/13

Ooh, I remember watching that finale. I got so mad at the ending, making me all sad like that.

Happy birthday to you! Sixteen is a pretty good year, or was for me at least. Best of luck with your year.
Strangelet 2/19/13
It made me so sad too! And thank you for the birthday wishes. I'm sure this year will be awesome!
 Emma  3/8/13

She marathoned Buffy the Vampire Slayer! It was very entertaining :D
angelina 2/19/13

 Emma  3/8/13

blaidd drwg 2/18/13
Ah, another SPN fan...good eye!
 Emma  3/8/13
Ah, somebody else saw it.
Paragrin 5/10/13

Omigosh, just saying, (because I know you like downton abbey, Emma) I don't know if you watched it, but the Christmas special has a terribly sad ending
Miss L.S.P 2/18/13
I haven't seen it yet because I know what happens, and I'm trying to spare myself the heartbreak...
 Emma  3/8/13

I am curious, what does she think of the first two Doctors, effects were not much but the stories were interesting.
scifijoe 2/18/13
I don't think Chapel has seen much of the original series. Maybe I'll have to do a comic on it...
 Emma  3/8/13

OMG HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMA!
And you are awesome for making this strip. Doctor Who is my favourite!
Ceylan 2/17/13
Thank you so much!! I'm so happy you like this comic!

You know they say you never forget your first doctor. . . .
blaidd drwg 2/16/13

Dr. Taxil Necrobane 2/17/13
Of course not!
Miss L.S.P 2/17/13
True, true!
 Emma  3/8/13

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Just thinking of That episode makes me sad rose was and always will be the best companion.
CrazyChick 2/16/13
Rose was always my favorite...I liked Donna too, but Rose holds a special place in my heart.
 Emma  3/8/13

do you have a hedgehog of your own miss emma and if so does it play with a cardboard tube?
Yarin 2/16/13
No, I don't have a hedgehog. They're illegal in California! I do have a puppy though, who I love dearly.
 Emma  3/8/13

Why is Chapel homesick? Where is she, then?
Missy 2/15/13
I'm not sure what you mean...
 Emma  2/15/13
She's "home sick" not homesick.... She is sick at home... Get it?
Miss L.S.P 2/16/13
OH, I see now! Since they didn't put that space in between the words, I didn't understand!
 Emma  2/17/13
Oh, yeah!
+smacks self in head+
Missy 2/20/13

This is exactly how my brother and I go through watching Doctor Who.
Riv 2/15/13
Me, too! It starts out awesome.... Ends in tears!
Missy 2/15/13
Truest thing ever...
 Emma  3/8/13
Ha ha! That's so great!
 Emma  3/8/13

Another february birthday. . . .geez. That makes ten so far including me and my girlfriend.
blaidd drwg 2/15/13
Wow, so many February birthdays! I have two friends whose birthdays are two and three days after mine, respectively, and many other friends' birthdays throughout the month. What a funny coincidence!
 Emma  3/8/13

I'm pretty sure she was watching Buffy the vampire slayer.... Happy Birthday by the way!
Miss L.S.P 2/15/13
Thank you! And yes, she was watching Buffy -- way back at the beginning of Season Two!
 Emma  2/15/13
Yeah, I remember! I think she had been watching for 6 straight days! Nice Buffy poster in the back, by the way
Miss L.S.P 2/16/13

It was where she received the package in the mail but I can't remember the strips name
Trix 2/15/13
It's not the strip's name you need...it's the name of what show she was watching! (Spoiler alert: she was watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer.)
 Emma  2/15/13

Again, i know what comic you are speaking of Miss Emma, but i shall pass for others to figure it out.

if Chapel is crying now, i wonder how much she'll cry over hearing that Lady Gaga just announced she has early onset of the disease called "Lupus". Lupus is fatal in the end if she can't get it treated. in any case, her dancing days are over. Lady Gaga had to cancel the rest of her tour due to it.

i feel saddened after hearing that and my sympatys go out to her.

i am watching the new (and all other outlets) so i'll keep you posted.
Dr. Taxil Necrobane 2/15/13
Aww, really? I have lost one friend to Lupus, and have another who still has it.
=\
I say "still" like it's something she can ever NOT have again, how sad... for EVERYONE who develops it.
Miles 2/15/13
Yeah, even though I didn't really know what that was until now, and I'm not a big fan of her, hope everything goes well for her
Miss L.S.P 2/15/13
Aw, that's a shame! I'm sure Chapel would be really sad about that...
 Emma  2/15/13
