Hmm, Marzia can play chess…Avengers Assemble! Chapel is definitely going to need Marzia’s help when it comes to beating Fred, her babysitter and long-time games enemy. So far Chapel’s played (and lost) Battleship, Scrabble, Pictionary, Chess, Risk, Jenga, Poker, Settlers of Catan, Trivial Pursuit, and even bowling. Marzia, come to the rescue!

I may not understand the rules of chess at all (I can’t even remember what each piece is supposed to do), but I’m pretty adept at other board games. Chapel may always lose, but I’m not Chapel. I was the unofficial Scrabble, Bananagrams, and Pictionary champion of my class! It got to the point where nobody wanted to play with me anymore, and I’d just hang out at recess staring at the board despondently with my unused Official Scrabble Dictionary.

So Barnaby was keeping the hedgie on his lap while he drives? He's a brave man then.

Just wondering, do you happen to watch Tabletop at all?
Ivresse 7/27/14 reply
I hope Marzia can beat Fred!

I enjoy playing Othello quite a lot. I am often approached to play chess, which I don't really enjoy. I know how to play, and can play well when I want to, I just don't want to sit and contemplate all the potential moves that put my pieces in danger. I still play chess with my neighbor Troy on a regular basis, because it seems like it's the only regular adult contact he gets (teenagers, and young adults are often around him, older adults, not so much).
I enjoy Castle Risk quite a lot, Scrabble is fun, Trivial Pursuit is not fun because I lack the pop culture knowledge required for much of it (I don't have a TV and don't listen to the radio).

I've never played Othello! I should try it. It's so much fun to read about people's board game stories!

Mariza's expression in panel four is priceless. :D
Sam Tweedle 7/25/14 reply
I'm so happy you like it!

THERE's Barnaby's apology... Marzia's face in the last panel more than answers my previous question!
Tom 7/25/14 reply
We don't know if Chapel will forgive him, though...
 Emma  7/26/14 reply
I would not call that an apology...
Sam 7/25/14 reply
Yeah, that was probably a poor choice of wording on my part. Oh well!
