I thought it was high time we had another strip of Gaga fun! This costume was a joy to color. I certainly abused my pack of Photoshop sparkle brushes on this one, as you can probably tell. I have a personal philosophy that sparkles instantly make anything better, and Chapel’s Gaga homages are no exception. It was hard to find an iconic Gaga costume I hadn’t drawn yet (that wasn’t made of meat) but I really love this one. I also chose this costume because the blue-ish silver color palette would actually fit in really well at a wedding, don’t you think?

I don’t know about you guys, but I would love to attend one of these wedding shindigs Chapel goes too. I mean, a wedding where one of the guests shows up in a Gaga costume? Sign. Me. UP.
Plain black dress, beige nightgown, or Lady Gaga -- and nothing inbetween. Chapel does nothing by halves, does she?
1/22/12 reply
Nope, she's an all-or-nothing type person when it comes to clothes!
1/22/12 reply

i love how she's eating an egg fry!
1/20/12 reply
Thanks! That's what I tend to eat for breakfast, too!

does chapel have a birthday?
1/18/12 reply
Yes, she does! It's April 21st. We'll have to throw an Internet birthday party for her this year!
1/19/12 reply
When is YOUR birthday Miss Emma?
1/19/12 reply
It's February 13, less than a month away! :D
1/19/12 reply
That's a little over a month before my birthday! :)
1/19/12 reply
Cool!
1/19/12 reply
OH MY GOD THAT'S MY BEST FREIND'S BIRTHDAY!!!!
1/21/12 reply
Wow, that's so cool! Your best friend has an awesome birthday, then!

Do you write in your own words?!?!?!
you have really neat handwriting!
1/16/12 reply
It is my handwriting, but I made a font out of it, which makes it a bit neater! :D
1/17/12 reply
really?
how? (if it's really complex it's okay you don't have to explain) :)
1/17/12 reply
It's not complex at all, and I don't mind! What I did was I went to myscriptfont[dot]com. They have a chart that you download and fill out with your handwriting, and then they turn it into a font for free! It's VERY useful, and I'm really happy with the results! :D
1/17/12 reply
That sounds neat!
1/17/12 reply
that sounds so cool!
maybe i will try it out.....
:)

Hey Emma, does Chapel have a brother or something? In Jenga War Strategy, there's a picture of Chapel's family. It's not too clear, but I think there is another boy in the picture.
Just wondering.......
1/15/12 reply
for that matter Ms. Emma, do YOU have any brothers or sisters?
1/16/12 reply
Nope, I don't! Sometimes I wish I did, though!
1/17/12 reply
how come he wasn't introduced in the beginning?
1/20/12 reply
He's away at college, so that's why he's not seen in any of the strips!
2/7/12 reply
WOW, you're such an eagle eyed reader! I'm very flattered! And it was a good call, too. You're right! Chapel does have a brother! He'll be introduced later though...SPOILERS!
1/17/12 reply
Well, I remembered that picture on the wall, and when I checked back.............
1/17/12 reply

That was my first Chapel comic and I loved it!!!!
1/15/12 reply
You're going to love all of them, Emma's comics are great!!
1/15/12 reply
Thanks so much! And just wondering, how did you find out about my comic?
1/17/12 reply
I've seen your illustrations in Stone Soup, because I have a subscription to it, and since you can't illustrate for them anymore, I saw somewhere in the front of one of the magazines that you had a website, so I decided to take a look. It's such a cool website!!!!
2/8/12 reply

Her shoes are kinda strange. It's like the heel is in the front instead of the back.
1/15/12 reply
I know, right? It's very fabulous!
1/17/12 reply
but they must be hard to walk in.
1/20/12 reply
Yeah, they must be...oh Chapel, the things you do for fashion...
2/7/12 reply

She looks really odd, but awesome. Why is Chapel being caught without her signature black dress in the first three panels??
1/15/12 reply
Well, I'm assuming that she just got up and is still in her pajamas.....
1/15/12 reply
YEP, you called it! That's Chapel's nightgown. I've shown it before on one of the Chapel greeting cards, but this is the first time it's appeared in the comic!
1/15/12 reply
Actually, in the first season, one of the comics had her in her nightgown........
1/16/12 reply
Really? OH! *forgets own comics*
1/17/12 reply

Emma, which Lady Gaga comic is your favorite?
1/14/12 reply
Augh! How can I choose?!
1/15/12 reply
I like the Gaga Dress Code one!
1/15/12 reply
True, that one is good. But STILL! They're my creations! How can I pick?
1/17/12 reply

Chapel certainly has one thing going for her-- an interesting sense of fashion.
1/14/12 reply
Yep, that's for sure! :D
1/14/12 reply
Hey Emma, have you ever submitted to Cricket or Cicada? I'm planning on submitting to one or both of them soon, as well as Creative Kids and/or Skipping Stones. They all look like great magazines!
1/17/12 reply
I subscribe to both magazines, but haven't submitted to either yet! But definitely submit to Creative Kids and Skipping Stones, I've been published in both a few times and they're GREAT!
1/17/12 reply
I'm on a writing kick, so I definitely will soon. :)
1/17/12 reply

Chapel looks fabulous, yet scary in that last panel........
1/14/12 reply
.......but hey, she's going to a wedding so, why not?
1/14/12 reply
i maybe a man, but there is one thing i have learned about women going to weddings (and who are not the bride themselves). NEVER try to out shine the bride. NEVER. the wedding is about the bride, not you.
1/14/12 reply
Hahaha, that certainly does seem to be the case. Perhaps if Chapel were much older that outfit would be a problem, but only a she-demon bride would have an issue with a preteen being dressed to the nines. :)
Tara A. 1/14/12 reply
WAHHH I wake up and find you guys are having this awesome conversation! :D And I don't think the bride should have a problem with how Chapel's dressed -- I mean, Chapel's family's probably used to it by now, right? But who knows, maybe she's a Bridezilla...
1/14/12 reply
Well, I don't know...... it is the BRIDE'S day...... just be careful, Chapel. You wouldn't want the bride to throw a shoe at you for stealing the attention.
1/14/12 reply
Oh dear! I don't think the bride would do THAT...
1/15/12 reply
you could be surprised by who would do that....
1/15/12 reply
Let's just hope that the bride has a more glamorous dress than what Chapel has right now.
1/15/12 reply
I don't know, it's kind of hard to beat Gaga...
1/17/12 reply
You never know.....
1/17/12 reply
are you sugesting that the bride is american maid from the tick? thats how she deals wioth her foes pins em to the wall with a high heeled shoe
darlec 1/24/12 reply
you are a MAN??? Like, are you a senior or something???
1/16/12 reply
There's nothing wrong with being a man......
1/17/12 reply
Indeed.
1/17/12 reply
It appears that i am by far older than you are. my real age is... well don't worry about it. the grim reaper hasn't succeeded in bagging me yet.
1/17/12 reply
"This is the best comment thread ever," says the cartoonist, as she scrolls through her comments page grinning like a crazy person.
1/17/12 reply
O'RLY?
1/18/12 reply

Chapel looks a little scary in the last panel...
1/14/12 reply
that dress reminds me of a bad 80's sci fi movie outfit.
1/14/12 reply
HA! Oh gosh, best comment. Considering that's an outfit I drew straight from Lady Gaga herself, that's rather fitting.
1/14/12 reply
Completely true....
1/14/12 reply
It just reminds me that Gaga has no sense of style, taste, or sanity.
1/17/12 reply
WHOA there! Ha ha! :D
1/17/12 reply
to be fair, back in the 80's, we ALL had bad fashion sense. man, just what was i thinking about when i had that mullet and neon green t shirt. ><
1/18/12 reply
Oh dear...
2/7/12 reply

Ever been a bridesmaid Emma?
1/14/12 reply
No, but I HAVE been a flower girl! It was when I was 4, though, so I don't remember it too well. :)
1/14/12 reply
Lucky you! I went to a wedding when I was about three years old, so I wasn't asked to do anything but watch.
1/15/12 reply
Lady Gaga is one of the worst-dressed celebrities, no offense any people who dress like Lady Gaga.
1/16/12 reply
I totally agree! But her music is great. TOTALLY.
1/16/12 reply
GaGa's music is good simply because she stole it all from better artist than she will ever be. I even find Dub Step to be better than Gaga.
1/23/12 reply
Okay, THAT'S a bit harsh...dubstep is the weirdest music ever...
1/23/12 reply
Yes it was Harsh, but it is also the truth of my thoughts about it. I will not lie. Having survived the last three decades of pop and rock music ALONE has allowed me to see who really has talent from those who just being pushed by the "industry". Gaga is one those who are being pushed. She might have a good heart, but I think she is also being controlled into being what she is now just to pull attenchion to herself.

oh, and you have NOT heard the weirdest music yet. TRUST me on this.
1/24/12 reply
Oh...okay, that's actually pretty interesting!
2/7/12 reply
I know! But, Dub step is really cool!!!!
1/29/12 reply
